John Edward Korcok became 1 month old and let his parents know that he was keeping his options open. While mom and dad hope that Spartacus chooses an academic path, he showed off some muscle by taking a classic Quarterback pose. Sigh…
The boy makes a decent case. He grows apace and at 1 month he weighs in at 11 lbs 8 oz, which is the 92nd percentile for male 4-week olds and is 23.4 inches long, which is the 96th percentile for male 1 month olds. Growing faster and getting a bit leaner: mom and dad will speak to son about basketball, a fine sport with fewer concussions.
We have taken to calling him Squirmicus because of how active he is. It does seem to be paying off in gross motor function, though. Here the boy shows off his ability to roll over a month or 2 ahead of schedule. (Yes, he does this amazing feat even though he has the hiccups.)
And head lifts to 45 degrees and up? He got those down a couple weeks ago. You and I, we take lifting our heads up at an angle for granted, but remember, our noggins aren’t GINORMOUS!
John Edward is so committed to physicality that we’ve caught him checking how long until his next workout. Like this one time he had already gotten into his sweats and kept checking his baby watch.
Both parents have extensive experience debating, so we are confident that he will come to see it our way eventually. But it may be a bit of a struggle.
